PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the external shape of a top plate material among stacked plate materials and the shape of a hole when the hole is present. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a means which picks up an image of stacked plate materials from above, a top surface detecting means 3 which detects a surface area of the top plate material according to the attained image information, an edge detecting means 5 which detects the position of the edge of each plate material, an edge tracing means 7 which traces the area where the edge is present along the edge from the top surface and makes one round up to the trace start point while always selecting a certain direction at a branch place, and a means 9 which decides that the edge whose round is made is the external shape or hole shape of the top plate material from the one-round direction and the direction selected at the branch plate. |
