CAMCORDER PROVIDED WITH REAL TIME TRANSMISSION/ RECEPTION FUNCTION FOR MOVING VIDEO SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camcorder to allow an opposite video device to send/ receive a moving video signal in real time by using a telephone line widely used not depending on the use of a leased line. SOLUTION: The camcorder has an image pickup means 140 in a main operation section 100 controlled by a control means and a real time video CODEC 160 and a MODEM 170 that are provided to a signal processing means 150 in addition to the configuration of a conventional camcorder. The control means 120 controls the real time video CODEC 160, the MODEM 170 and the signal processing means 150 in response to a key signal applied from a key entry section 110 for real time transmission reception, a telephone number and a telephone connection state signal applied from the MODEM 170. Then the signal processing means 150 has an input terminal to selectively receive a decoded moving video signal from a real time decoder 164 under the control of the control means 120.
