SHIFT STAGE POSITION DETECTING CONTROL METHOD FOR GEAR TRANSMISSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a shift control with the shift pattern natural to a gear type transmission without changing the existing gear type transmission. SOLUTION: A gear shift actuator 1 for axially moving a select shift rod 2 from a gear type transmission for selection and rotating it around the axis for shifting is provided with a select sensor 8 for detecting the selecting operation and a shift sensor 43 for detecting the shifting operation. The gear shift actuator 1 is test operated to all shift positions to generate electric signals corresponding to the gear type transmission from the select sensor 8 and the shift sensor 43, and all the shift positions natural to the gear type transmission are drawn and stored in the shift pattern preliminarily stored in an electronic control device, whereby a control signal is outputted from the electronic control device on the basis of the drawn and stored shift pattern.
