The method involves storing the skin type and exposure habits of each user in a database and/or a personal memory card to compute effective but medically non-critical radiation doses for treating erythema. Detection of the operating state of each radiation device (1-3) is performed, whereby a radiation correction value is determined for each lamp or tube using aging or lifetime curves and the operating period for each device. The correction value is fed to the control computer (6) as an exposure computation coefficient. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for computer-supported operation of devices for irradiating the human body for treatment of erythema.
