Industrial preparation of prostane derivatives, especially iloprost, having reduced content of decomposition products

The use of an oxidation inhibitor for the ambient air in the industrial preparation of prostane derivatives (I) is claimed, where the inhibitor removes ozone from the process air before contact with (I). An Independent claim is included for the preparation of medicaments containing (I) using an oxidation inhibitor as above, where the process involves (i) mixing (I)-cyclodextrin with the auxiliaries lactose and avicel, (ii) pelleting with ca. 20.5% water, by high-speed blending, extrusion and spheronization and (iii) drying in a fluidized bed, by filling and drying.
