The hinge strip (7) which connects the casement window (3) to the window frame (4) has a section (7.1) which for shifting the swivel axis (5) according to the swivel movement of the window (3) during opening and closing is designed so that it moves in a fixed section (7.2). An element (13) driven by the swivel movement is connected to the movable section and engages in the fixed section. The driven element is a crank drive whose crank arm engages in the fixed section. A cable or belt drive (14) can be provided to transfer force from the swivelled window casement to the rotary driven element.
