Odorous, oxygenated decalin compounds Compounds have the general formula: in which X is either O or H and ester radical O-CO-R where R is 1-6C opt. sat. opt. linear. Pref. compounds are the formate, acetate, propionate butyrate acrylate and the cis and trans ketones. They have a woody, amber odour and are of use in perfumes of the Chypre type.
