PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mixed crystal which has a maximum peak at a specific position of Bragg angle against X ray and has good electrophotographic properties without use of a halogen compound by making a mixture of a titanyloxyphthalocyanine and at least one of charge generating organic materials other than the phthalocyanine transform into an amorphous body and treating it with a solvent containing water and naphthalene. SOLUTION: A transformed crystal has a maximum peak of Bragg angle (2θ±0.2 degree) against X-ray of CuKα1.541Åat 27.2 degree. The phthalocyanines used for obtaining the mixed crystal includes non-metal phthalocyanines, vanadylphthalocyanines and the like. The amount of water is 2-100 pts.wt. per 1 pt.wt. of the phthalocyanines and the amount of naphthalene is 10-5,000 pts.wt. of 100 pts.wt. of the phthalocyanines. The temperature of crystal transition is preferably not more than 80-100 deg.C.
