PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible heat sensitive color developing composite, capable of high-speed elimination of a colored picture and excellent in the stability of repeating the development and elimination of color, and a reversible heat sensitive recording medium employing the composite. SOLUTION: In a reversible heat sensitive color developing composite utilizing color developing reaction between an electron donor color developing compound and an electron receptor compound, a phenol compound, shown by a formula, is employed as the electron receptor compound. (In the formula, X shows the single of -CH2 -, -C2 H4 -, -CH=CH- or -NHCH2 -, Y shows the single bond of -NHCO-, -NHSO2 -, -NH-CO-NH- or -NH-CS-NH-, R1 shows a lower alkyl group and R2 shows an alkyl group having the carbon number of 6 or more.
