PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the print efficiency of two liquids on a recording medium and the quality of print image by an arrangement wherein an ink composition adheres to the recording medium during both going stroke and returning stroke of a recording head on the recording medium but a reaction liquid adheres to the recording medium during any one of going stroke or returning stroke. SOLUTION: Recording heads 25-28 eject an ink composition and a reaction liquid toward a recording medium both when they scan in the directions B1 and B2 to perform printing onto a recording medium. On the other hand, a recording head 23 performed printing with reaction liquid only when it scans in the direction B1. More specifically, the reaction liquid is ejected from the recording head 23 and the ink composition is ejected from the recording heads 25-28 when a carriage performs scanning in the direction B1 to perform printing on the recording medium. Reaction of the reaction liquid and the ink composition takes place at that position and a good print image is obtained. |
