FIELD: agriculture, evaluation of non-uniformity of soil cover of fields. SUBSTANCE: in correspondence with given process field 1 is divided into sections in the form of strips 2. Then working tool is pulled at depth of basic working of soil adopted for given climatic zone along each strip and resistance force acting on it is registered at same time. After it holes are drilled in two points of each strip where value of resistance force acting on working tool from side of soil is maximum and minimum. Then average coefficients of inverse relationship of thickness of humus layer with reference to resistance force acting from side of soil on working tool are computed by formula K<SB>j</SB>= h<SB>jmin</SB>F<SB>jmin</SB>+h<SB>jmax</SB>F<SB>jmax</SB>/2,/2, where K<SB>j</SB> is average coefficient of inverse relationship of thickness of humus layer on resistance force acting from side of soil on working tool; h<SB>jmin</SB>, h<SB>jmax</SB> are measured values of thickness of humus layer in two points of j-th strip; F<SB>jmin</SB>, F<SB>jmax</SB> are resistance forces acting on working tool from side of soil in two points of j-th strip recorded by measuring device. Then thickness of humus layer is found in number of points of each strip by formula h<SB>ij</SB>= K<SB>ij</SB>/F<SB>ij</SB>, where h<SB>ij</SB> is thickness of humus layer in i-th point of j-th strip; F<SB>ij</SB> is resistance force acting from side of soil on working tool in i-th point of j-th strip recorded by measuring device. These points are used to plot curves of distribution of thickness of humus layer by strips of field. EFFECT: reduced labor input in determination of thickness of humus layer of soil. 2 dwg
