COUNTER FOR SHEETS OF PAPER

A paper sheet counter which is compact and can count at high speed and be switched between a normal counting mode and a batch counting mode. When a cover (3) of the paper sheet counter is opened, a power switch (28) is turned on. In this state (S2: no) the normal mounting mode is enabled lighting a display value "0" (S4). Turning on a counting start switch (31) (S2: yes) enables a batch mode, blinking a display value "10" and indicating that the set count value can be changed (S3). Each time the counting start switch (31) is depressed and released once (S5: yes, S6: yes), a value at the first digit position of the displayed value increments by one in a blinking state (S7). Then each time an accumulated counting switch (32) is depressed and released once (S8: yes, S9: yes), a value at the second digit position of the displayed value increments by one in a blinking state (S10). Depressing the switches (31, 32) at the same time determines the set count value (S11: yes).
