Olefins are produced by dehydrogenating a feed stream of one or more C2-C10 alkanes with a coked catalytic cracking catalyst. Preferably, the coked catalytic cracking catalyst has a carbon content of about 0.2-10 wt.%. The catalyst preferably comprises a crystalline tetrahedral framework oxide component.
