Firstly there is provided is a spout for a container of substantially cylindrical shape having a bore therethrough with a mouth region and a base region which is container engageable or engaged to provide in use (when engaged with the container) a sealed connection with the container, the spout comprising an annular flange formed externally to provide a threaded section between the annular flange and base, the spout adapted to be realeasably engageable with a) a first spout engaging means releasably enageable by rotational screw engagement with the screw thread means, and b) a second spout engaging means, releasably press engageable with the external annular flange, wherein the annular flange has a region of discontinuity through, which complimentary thread engaging means of the first spout engaging means, is able to pass. Secondly there is provided a combination of a closure and a spout for a container wherein the spout comprises a cylindrical neck portion including a bore therethough and terminating having a mouth region and a base attachable or attached to a container providing a sealed connection with the container, an annular flange formed externally on the neck portion at or below the mouth region, an external screw threaded section between the annular flange and the base, and a closure releasably press engageable in the direction axial to the axis of the cylindrical neck portion, with the spout in at least two conditions: a first condition where a bore locating portion of the closure releasably but securely locates with the spout within the bore, and in a second and axially more advanced condition where a frangibly detachable ring of the closure locates with a frangible detachable ring engageable flange disposed from the cylindrical neck portion between the tread region and the base, where the annular flange has a r4egion of discontinuity through which, a complimentary thread of a threaded spout engaging means to engage with the external thread is able to pass. |
