Solubility of detergents containing surface active agents is improved when unsubstituted dioxolane-2-one or dioxolane-2-one substituted in the 4- or in the 4- and 5-position are used in the detergent as solubility promoter. A method for producing detergents with improved solubility and detergents exhibiting improved solubility are also disclosed.
