The longitudinal sides of the movable base 1 have a structural reinforcement consisting of a tube 2 and panels 3 which are in the same plane and which provide a smooth surface for supporting the forklift trucks, which surface is raised to a height "H" for manoeuvring of the forks of said trucks. The traction system of the base 1 is double for each wheel, composed of pinion 14 and crown 15, on each side of the corresponding drive wheel. The invention is applicable to the movable bases 1 of shelving for allowing access on the part of any type of forklift truck at the same time as more balanced displacement of the shelving in its movements is obtained. <IMAGE>
