PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the telephone set by which the user can surely confirm a caller. SOLUTION: A retrieval circuit 4 retrieves whether or not a same telephone number as a caller side telephone number received from a compander circuit 2 is stored in a storage section 3, and when the retrieval circuit 4 detects absence of the caller side telephone number in the storage section 3, the user hooks off a slave set to allow a CPU 8 not to connect to a master set even when the CPU 8 detects a charging detection section (d) sent from a charging detection circuit 7.
