PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an NOx removal catalyst having an excellent durability and exhibiting a high NOx removal activity, which is useful for catalytically reducing nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases by using a reducing agent such as ammonia. SOLUTION: The catalyst for removing nitrogen oxides comprises a catalytically active material supported on a honeycomb substrate, which contains, by weight, 50-94.5% of titanium oxide, 5-30% of tungsten oxide, 0.5-10 % of cerium oxide and 0-10% of zirconium oxide. The supported catalyst layer has a thickness of 0.03-0.2 mm and a ratio of opening of 65-90%. |
