PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of image quality by a method wherein a paper sheet is stably bent when the forward end of the paper sheet makes contact with a resist roller pair. SOLUTION: A paper conveyance route 2 extending from a paper feed cassette 10 to a resist roller pair 34 comprises a paper guide mechanism 3 consisting of conveyance guides 35 and 36, reversing roller 32, a paper conveyance guide 33, and a conveyance guides 37 and 38. The paper guide mechanism 3 reverses a paper sheet conveyed from the paper feed cassette 10 along the paper conveyance route 2 and generates bending when the forward end of the paper sheet guided to the resist roller pair 34 makes contact with the resist roller pair 34. A protrusion part 61 protruding toward the paper conveyance route 2 is formed on the paper conveyance guide 33. The protrusion 61 regulates backward movement of the rear end side of the paper sheet toward the paper feed cassette 10 after bending is formed.
