摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ionization detector having a detector response showing an improved dynamic range, a low min. detectable level and a large signal-to- noise ratio. SOLUTION: An ionization detector consists of a source chamber 414 equipped with an ionized particle source and received the flow of a gas to be detected, an ionization chamber 416, an inlet 424 connected to the ionization chamber to supply a sample gas flow containing a sample to the ionization chamber and the transfer structure 420 arranged between the source chamber and the ionization chamber. The ionization chamber is connected to the source chamber by an opening 440A and has a divergent bore, the gas to be detected flows in the ionization chamber at a gradually reduced linear velocity through the divergent bore of the transfer structure, ionized particles formed in the source chamber can be transferred to the detection region 430 of the ionization chamber, and the diffusion of the gas to be detected through the transfer structure is suppressed.
