摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting method, for the fracture and the incident deviation of an optical fiber and a laser machining apparatus, in which the fracture and the incident deviation of the optical fiber can be detected more precisely and more surely than in conventional cases. SOLUTION: In a laser beam machining apparatus, a laser beam LB which is emitted from a laser oscillator 1 is made incident on an optical fiber 11, it is condensed by a condensing lens 17B which is provided inside a machining head 15, and it is then guided to a machining point so as to perform a laser beam machining operation. The laser beam LB which is output from the laser oscillator 1 and guide light 21, for adjustment, other than the laser beam are made simultaneously incident on the optical fiber 11, the quantity of the guide light 21 for adjustment is monitored, and the fracture and the incident deviation of the optical fiber 11 are detected on the basis of the attenuation of the quantity of the guide light 21.</p>
