PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of optical resolution having such advantages as to waste no optical resolution agent, be mild in the racemization condition for the non-objective optically active compound, and enable the aimed optically active compound to be continuously produced. SOLUTION: This method of optical resolution comprises the following process: (1) the racemic modification (A+a) of an optically active compound is subjected to an optical resolution agent X to form an optically active modification (a) and a sparingly soluble molecular compound AX, (2) the compound AX and optically active modification (a) are separated, (3) the compound AX is treated with an acid to obtain an optically active modification A; whereas (4) the optically active modification (a) separated in the step (2) is subjected to a optical resolution agent X to form a readily soluble molecular compound aX, (5) the compound aX is racemized to form a mixture of the compound AX and the compound aX, (6) the mixture is subjected to the racemic modification (A+a) to form the compound AX and the optically active modification (a), each the same as in the step (1); hereafter, the steps (2) to (6) are repeated to accomplish the objective optical resolution. |
