PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter for controlling flexibility and push- efficiency according to a situation. SOLUTION: A balloon catheter 1 has a core 9 inserted from a connector 7 to an internal section of a shaft 3. When operations for inserting/pulling-out the core 9 are conducted by holding a manipulation member 11, the core 9 slides to the shaft 3 and the depth for inserting the core 9 into the internal section of the shaft 3 can be controlled. The deeper the core 9 is inserted, the higher a rigidity of the shaft 3 becomes to a distal end to improve push- efficiency of the balloon catheter 1. When the core 9 is pulled out to this side, a rigidity of the distal end of the shaft 3 becomes lower to improve flexibility of the balloon catheter 1. |
