<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent vapor (humidity) generated in an image heater due to the passage of a recording material from exerting adverse effects on an area, which is further upstream than at least the image heater in the direction of the movement of the recording material. SOLUTION: This image forming device has an image heater 7 which leads the recording material P with an image T held on it into a nip N between a heating member 11 and a pressure member 12 pressed against each other, and which heats the image by carrying it, while holding it between them. In this case, a recording-material-lead-in guide member 30 to the nip N and a partition member 40, which forms a narrow recording-material-lead-in opening A together with the guide member 30, are provided further upstream than the nip N in the direction of the movement of the recording material. The internal X of the recording-material-lead-in opening A is in the range of 2 mm<=X<=7 mm.</p> |
