COLORABLE SCRATCH RESISTANT COATING FOR PLASTIC OCULAR LENS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide double layer coatings which are formed by coloring plastic materials to a high degree and are made highly scratching resistant and its method. SOLUTION: The double layer coatings include a dye reservoir layer 12 which is formed on a surface 11 of the material to be colored and contains about 15 to 80 wt.% flexible acrylic oligomer or a blended resin of the acrylic oligomer and an acrylate monomer and about 1 to 70 wt.% monovinyl functional reactive diluent and a hard coating layer 16 which is formed on the dye reservoir layer. The hard coating layer 16 contains max. about 48 carbon atoms and at least three O-[acryloyl(polyalkylene oxide)] groups. The respective polyalkylene oxide chains contain about 20 to 100 wt.% alkane polyol contg. about 1 to 20 alkylene oxide groups and about 10 to 70 wt.% polyacryloyl alkane polyol contg. max. about 24 carbon atoms and at least about 2 O-acryloyl groups.
