PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a volume, or size, of a negative temperature coefficient thermister element, by allowing at least one main surface of the negative temperature coefficient thermister element to surface-contact to a case inside wall. SOLUTION: A ceramic material whose main component is LaCo group rare-earth transition element oxide is molded into a square-plate form to provide a negative temperature coefficient thermister element 12. Power-feeding terminals 15 and 16 are of Cu-Ti group alloy, comprising contact parts 15a and 16b. Related to both side surfaces where electrodes 13 and 14 of the negative temperature coefficient thermister element 12 are formed, one ends of the power-feeding terminals 15 and 16 are inserted in notches 17d and 17d at a sidewall 17c of a case main body 17a for contacting to the contact parts 15a and 16a. While the negative temperature coefficient thermister element 12 is housed in the case main body 17a, a lid 17b is inserted in the case main body 17a, which is sealed up with a silicon resin, etc., to provide a negative temperature coefficient thermister 11.
