SOLUTION: In the paper money storage device equipped with plural conveying means for conveying paper moneys 1, the conveying speed of downstream conveying means 202 is made faster than that of upstream conveying means 113 when paper moneys which are received are passed from the upstream conveying means 113 which are positioned upstream in the conveying direction of the paper moneys 1 to the downstream conveying means 202 which are positioned downstream. When a paper money is rejected, the downstream conveying means serve as upstream conveying means 113 for money reception and the upstream conveying means serve as downstream conveying means 202 for money reception. Even at this time, the conveying speed of the downstream conveying means 113 is made faster than that of the upstream conveying means 202. |
