MULTIPLEXER AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplexer that multiplexes control data while following restriction as to multiplexed intervals of the control data and prevents excessive increase in a multiplex buffer occupied capacity. SOLUTION: A control data multiplex control section 25 of the multiplexer 11 has a multiplex control function that controls distribution of packet transmission timings to multiplex the packet. An arithmetic section 25b of the control data multiplex control section 25 calculates a greatest common measure and a minimum multiplex time interval or the like based on an upper limit multiplex time interval corresponding to various packets. Each packet is distributed based on the minimum multiplex time interval and the distributed packets are multiplexed.
