PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively improve the water proofing and reliability by forming, on the circumference of a cable core, a water-proof layer consisting of a metal layer, an inorganic matter layer or an organic matter layer containing metal and/or inorganic matter by using of an unbalanced plasma discharge generated by microwave stimulation under an ordinary pressure. SOLUTION: A 22 kV class CV cable core (conductor section 400 mm<2> , insulator thickness 7 mm, 3-layer dry type) comprising a conductor 11, an internal semiconductive layer 12, an insulator 13 and an external semiconductive layer 14 in this order is manufactured according to an ordinary method. A 100 μm thick water-proof layer consisting of aluminum is formed on the external semiconductive layer 14 by means of ordinary pressure unbalanced plasma discharge utilizing microwave discharge (2.45 GHz). A copper tape is wound on the water-proof layer 15 to form a metal shield layer 16, and a cable sheath 17 consisting of polyvinyl chloride is put thereon, whereby a CV cable is provided. According to this, a pressure reducing device is dispensed with, excellent water proofing property such as water tree prevention can be provided at a low cost, and the reliability can be enhanced. |
