Macrolide compounds are useful for the prevention and treatment of inflammation of mucosa and blood vessels and diseases such as LTB4-mediated diseases, gastric ulcers, vascular damage caused by ischemic diseases and thrombosis, ischemic bowel disease, inflammatory bowel disease, necrotizing enterocolitis, and intestinal lesions associated with thermal burns.
