PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic(E) mail system capable of reducing communication control load between an E mail server and a telephone set with an E mail function. SOLUTION: In the E mail system having a telephone set with an E mail function and an E mail server, the E mail sever has a user management part 26 and a communication control part 28 capable of controlling communication with the telephone set through a telephone line without using a transmission control protocol/internet protocol(TCP/IP) and a point-to-point protocol(PPP) by comparing a caller's telephone number detected by a communication interface part 16B with user information from a user management part to certificate a user and capable of transmitting/receiving an E mail without allocating an IP address to the telephone set. The E mail functioning telephone set has a communication control part capable of transmitting/receiving an E mail by controlling communication with the E mail sever without using TCP/IP, PPP, and IP addresses, a display part for displaying a transmitted/received E mail and a user input part for editing the mail. |
