A weight for stabilizing a golf putter and for practicing putting, comprising two kinds of metal weights (1, 2) each having a groove with a width permitting the weight to be fitted to and removed from the shaft of a putter and a screw so that the weights can be fitted to the putter shaft by fastening the screw. As the weights are fitted to the shaft, oscillation in the transverse direction and vibration at the time of stroke can be suppressed, and a stable stroke can be acquired by repeating the practice in a state where the metal weights are fitted to the shaft.
