<p>Textile fibre mixtures are dyed or printed simultaneously with cationic and anionic dyes by treating the fibres with an aqueous solution which contains at least 1 cationic dye, at least 1 anionic dye, sufficient acid to give a pH of 3-7, and 0.5-10 weight %, on the solution, of a preparation consisting of 5-75 parts by weight of the diethanolamide of coconut oil fatty acids and 95-25 parts by weight of the condensation product of 1 mole of oleyl alcohol with 20 moles of ethylene oxide, steam-treating the dyed fibres for 5-30 mins. and then washing and drying them. It is particularly applied to mixtures of acrylic fibres and cotton, or mixtures of acrylc fibres and nylon. It is especially useful for dyeing carpets.</p> |
