摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a driver from feeling incongruity by abrupt shift at the time of switching a shift characteristic by changing a normal first shift characteristic to a second shift characteristic enlarged in a low speed stage area at the time of detecting down-shift as well as a travel road being an upward slope. SOLUTION: Signals from sensors or switches 11-15 of accelerator actuating quantity, vehicle speed, and the like are inputted to a control unit 10 and outputted to a throttle actuator 7 and solenoids 5, 6. A first shift characteristic is set with the accelerator actuating quantity and vehicle speed as parameters, and a second shift characteristic to be a vehicle speed sensitive shift characteristic is set with only the vehicle speed as a parameter. The second shift characteristic is set to cover the shortage of engine output caused by traveling on the (low speed stage area enlarged) highland by setting a shift line in such a way as to shift at higher vehicle speed than the first shift characteristic in a range of the accelerator actuating quantity much used on a winding road.
