PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal ink jet head, and a manufacturing method thereof, in which an orifice plate is bonded stably regardless of the pattern size of a barrier wall part and an isolation part composed of photosensitive polyimide. SOLUTION: A barrier wall/isolation member 50 of photosensitive polyimide is formed in a new pattern 34 of grids having widths (d) and (e) of 50μm or less, or in a new pattern 35 of multiple frames having width (t) of 50μm or less arranged at an interval (g) such that the pattern is confined within same outline as an old pattern 33 and then subjected to curing. Since level difference between the fringe and the inner part of a pattern bonding face is suppressed after shrinkage, even an orifice plate having a thin adhesive layer can be bonded effectively to the entire surface of the pattern bonding face.
