PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a binding operation steadily without decrease in band tension by providing a welding gripper and a vibratile welding pad and vibrating the face of a boundary between the overlapping portions of a plastic band, thereby friction-welding and joining them. SOLUTION: A feed wheel 20 which freely rotates is moved close to a foot member 22, and the let-out-portion 3 of a band 1 is let out while held between both 20 and 22. Thereafter a tension gripper 10 and a support member 12 are moved close to each other, and tension is applied to the band 1 while the leading-end portion 2 of the band is held. Then, by bringing a welding gripper 30 close to a first support member 32 against a compression spring member 34 by the rotation of a first cam member 60, the overlapping portions of the band 1 are held. Also, a vibration welding-pad 40 is brought close to a second support member 42 and then a switch is turned on by means of a second cam member 62 to actuate a vibration motor 50, thereby vibrating the vibration welding-pad 40 and friction-welding and joining the overlapping parts of the band 1. |
