PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide manufacture of a double rib belt and a double rib belt to position a core at the central part in the direction of thickness of a rubber layer. SOLUTION: In manufacture of a double rib belt(WB) from a belt sleeve(BS) formed by embedding a core wire in the direction of thickness in a rubber layer, the belt sleeve BS is run with the belt sleeve running around a drive roll 2 and a driven roll, which are different in diameter, and from a rotation ratio (i) between the rolls 2(,3), the central positionαof a core wire R is determined from the roll 2. From the central positionαand the thickness 2w and 2βof the belts BS and WB, grinding valuesγ1 andγ2 by which the center of the core wire R is positioned at the central part in the direction of thickness of the rubber layer are computed. Consecutively, by grinding the peripheral surface of the BS by the grinding valuesγ1 andγ2, with a plurality of ribs formed, the center of the core is positioned at the central part of the rubber layer to manufacture the WB.
