PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass paste composition capable of forming plasma displays scarcely liable to cause the generation of gas bubbles due to a non- dissolved resin and hardly causing a dielectric breakdown between electrodes by using ethyl cellulose having a specific amount of epoxy groups as an organic resin used for an organic vehicle. SOLUTION: This glass paste composition contains at least glass frit, a solvent, and an organic resin having a binder function. The organic resin preferably comprises ethylcellulose having an ethoxy group content of >=49 wt.%. The ethylcellulose desirably has a weight-average mol.wt. of 10,000-500,000. The content of the ethylcellulose in the organic vehicle is preferably 1-15 wt.%. The solvent includesα-terpineol and may, if necessary, be mixed with a plasticizer such as dimethyl terephthalate and a surfactant. The glass frit used in the glass paste composition includes lead silicate-based glass frit or lead borosilicate- based glass frit.
