PURPOSE: To obtain a joint excellent in water permeability by adding a synthetic-resin emulsion of specified concn. to a granular material having specified maximum size, grain size distribution and uniformity coefficient and kneading the mixture. CONSTITUTION: The crushed stones of JIS(Japanese Industrial Standard) No.7 are screened to obtain the granular material having <=8mm maximum size, contg. >=80wt.% material having >=1mm grain diameter and <=3wt.% material having <=0.3mm grain diameter and having 1-3 uniformity coefficient, and the granular material is obtained. A synthetic-resin emulsion such as an acrylic emulsion having viscosity of >=100CPS is added to the granular material by 4-10wt.% of the water content of the granular material in the saturated surface- dried condition, the mixture is kneaded to precoat the granular material, and the joint material is obtained. The granular material having <=5mm maximum size is filled to the depth of >=5mm from the paved surface, the joint material having 5-20mm, preferably 5-13mm, width is filled on the granular material layer up to the paved surface, vibrated and compacted, the surplus joint material remaining on the paved surface is removed, and the bond is cured in 30min to 10hr. |
