Process for the production of optical resin films

Continuous production of an optical epoxy resin film (I) by formation of a drawable resin layer upon a support with a smooth surface; distribution of an epoxy resin coating solution also containing a hardener, an accelerator and a flow agent onto the resin layer in the form of a film; hardening to form a hardened film adhered to the resin layer, and simultaneous separation of (I) from support. An Independent claim is included for an optical epoxy resin film (I) comprising a hardened film consisting of an epoxy resin and a further resin layer that is arranged on one side of the film. The film (I) has a retardation value of no more than 5 nm, an average thickness of no more than 500 microns, a variation in thickness of no more than /!10%, a glass transition temperature of at least 170 deg C and a smooth surface.
