Synergistic mixture comprising a 2,4-dimethyl-6-S- alkylphenol and a sterically hindered phenol. A synergistic mixture comprising a) at least a compound of formula I <IMAGE> where R1 is methyl or ethyl and R2 is alkyl having 10 to 30 carbon atoms, and b) at least one compound of formula II <IMAGE> where n is 1, 2 or 4, X1 is tertiary butyl, X2 is alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, X3, where n = 1 is alkyl having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a triazinylamino group which is substituted by trialkyl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the triazine ring, or a -A1-COO-A2 or -A1- CONH-A2 group, is described.
