Electrical connector with contact retaining module formed from reverse alternating modular frame pieces

An electrical connector housing (60) is formed with a retaining module for retaining electrical conductors (62) with the housing (60). The retaining module is comprised of modular frame pieces (64) having the same shape, but alternatingly reversely orientated in a row. Electrical conductors (62) are sandwiched in grooves (68; 124) between adjacent frame pieces. The frame pieces (64) are ultrasonically welded together. The housing also has two lock modules (66) with snap-lock rocker arms (82). The lock modules (66) are ultrasonically welded to the frame pieces (64). <IMAGE>
