The coulter blade assembly comprises in combination first coulter unit mounted on the implement and engageable with the ground for clearing residue and loosening the soil in a first path determined by movement of the implement across the ground. A second coulter unit is mounted on the implement to one side of and trailing first coulter unit relative to a forward movement of the implement, the second coulter unit engageable with the ground for clearing residue and loosening the soil in a second path determined by movement of the implement across the ground. A third coulter unit is mounted on the implement to an opposite side of the first coulter unit and trailing the second coulter unit relative to a forward movement of the implement. The third coulter unit is engageable with the ground for clearing residue and loosening the soil in a third path determined by movement of the implement across the ground. A fourth coulter unit is mounted on the third coulter unit in a trailing relationship with it for applying a seed growth enhancing substance onto the soil behind the third coulter unit. |
