PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively radiate heat and make the vertical force of a contact point easily variable, by providing a pair of spaced wall parts forming a projection engageable in a plug accommodating space of a receptacle contact. SOLUTION: A plug contact used for a plug connector 10 has two facing primary side wall portions 12, 14 on which a front projection 16 is formed. The front projection 16 has an upper portion 18 and a lower portion 20, these upper portion 18 and the lower portion 20 are respectively provided with a pair cantilever type facing beams, and each beam has an inward converging base end 22 and arc-shaped contact portion 24 and top 26. The facing tops 26 are provided in parallel, these tops 26 are arranged slightly away from each other when the beams are being loosened, and are inter-engaged when the beams bend as in the case that the front projection 16 is inserted into a receptacle contact. Thus, protection of the beams against over-stress can be done during engagement or meshing. |
