The method and the device are used in the motor-car industryand in motor vehicle repair works. The window panes (1) connectedto the supporting frame (5) by means of a homogenous adhesivematerial are first separated from frame (5) by devices irradiatingenergy (9, 20) fitted immediately to the glass pane (1). Thenenergy from the irradiation devices (9, 20) is fed across theglass pane (1) in order to cause the separation of the pane (1)from frame (5) or by the destruction of part of the adhesivematerial, and/or by splitting or by destruction of the material ofthe pane (1). The irradiated energy can be light, ultrasound orlaser, and, preferably, be concentrated on a predetermined placewhich would increase the separation effect.16 claims, 2 figures
