<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the data input system which can greatly lighten the burden of corrections of recognized characters on a user. SOLUTION: Image data taken in by an image scanner 12 provided, for example, at the tip part of an input pen, etc., have a character area segmented by an image OCR(optical character reader) part 15 and are shown to the user through a display part 17. If a misrecognized character is present at this time, the user writes a corrected character with the input pen this time. As the corrected character is written, a movement distance sensor 14 provided at the tip part of the input pen inputs movement distance data including the direction and an on-line OCR part 16 recognizes from the movement distance data the character that the trace of the movement represents by tracing the movement. Then a control part 11 replaces the character misread by the image OCR part 15 with the character read by the on-line OCR part 16.</p> |
