PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce troubles given to an opposite party by the repetition of re-calling in the case of erroneously specifying an opposite party telephone number by making the number of times of re-calling less than a prescribed standard number of times of re-calling in the case of judging that the opposite party number inputted by a ten key pad is a new destination number. SOLUTION: In the case that a ten-key pad inputted opposite party number is not registered in the dial registration table of a RAM 4 as an opposite party fax number and is not registered as the opposite party telephone number either, it can not be surely judged as a subscriber number allocated from a public network to the facsimile equipment of the opposite party or the subscriber number of an opposite party telephone set corresponding to the subscriber number of the opposite party facsimile equipment, so that a system control part 2 sets a re-calling set value to a limited number of times of re-calling less than a standard number of times of re-calling. Thus, in the case that the called opposite party is actually a telephone set, the user of the opposite party is prevented from being troubled by repeating erroneous re-calling for many times.
