<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse starting power source device with low cost and small size by installing a branched circuit connected in parallel to a secondary winding, having impedance lower than the impedance of the secondary winding so that current flows in mainly the branched circuit by the frequency generating when the arc of a lamp is operated. SOLUTION: A branched circuit 7 connected to both ends of a secondary winding 4b contains an inductance Lr and a capacitor Cr arranged in series. An induction value and a capacity value of these components are selected so that while the arc of a lamp LAD is in an active phase, in the basic frequency of current sent with a converter, impedance of the branched circuit 7 is very low compared with the impedance of the secondary winding 4b. These values are selected, for example, so that the basic frequency corresponds to the resonance frequency of the branched circuit 7.</p> |
