<p>The polymer insulator which is of supporting and stretchingtype is used in electrical systems, equipment and high and lowvoltage transformers. It has improved compact wearness andstability in sharp temperature changes, its temeprature range ofoperation being also extended, with reduced overall dimensions andweight. The polymer insulator contains an insulation body (1) andbuilt-in metal inserts (2). The insulation body is made of pressedcomposite based on formaldehyde resin of open microporousstructure of continuous glass fibres. Inserts (2) are engaged fromtheir front surfaces (3) by longitudinal layers (4) of glassfibres bent at an angle. The longitudinal layers (4) are presseddown by radial layers of glass fibres (5) by longitudinal layersof glass fibres (6) of arc-like shape. The arc-like shapegradually reduces in radial direction and threse layers, on theirturn, are pressed down by radial layers of glass fibres (7). Theinsulation body in the zones around the metal inserts is fullyimpregnated by thermoreactive compound.2 claims, 2 figures</p> |
