PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce presuming error when three-dimentional positions of source coils are found by using a plurality of pairs of sense coils. SOLUTION: A probe 15 having sixteen source coils 14i is inserted from an insertion port 12a of a forceps channel 12 of an electronic endoscope 6, and the source coils 14i are arranged in an insertion part 7. In a bed 4 on which a patient lies, out of four sense coils 22a, 22b, 22c, 22d where at least four single core coils 22k which have a common center and detect a magnetic field on the same straight line and in the same direction are aligned, the sense coils 22a, 22b are arranged in parallel, and the sense coils 22c, 22d are arranged perpendicularly to the sense coils 22a, 22b. Thus, the coils are arranged at specified positions in a state of a parallel crosses.
